Description

This Maco G-TS Repair multipoint door lock features 2 Rollers, 2 Hooks, 1 Deadbolt & 1 Latch.

Most G-TS locks have been discontinued by Maco, however, there are some G-TS locks left in either a 28mm or 35mm backset which are specifically designed to replace old, discontinued locks.

These locks can be used to replace the old 56231 and 233051 Maco G-TS locks which are no longer manufactured. Our part codes for those are MA53500, MA53501 and MA53502 (lever/lever only). You may find that some adjustments to the keep positions is required. This lock measures 375mm from the spindle to the centre of the top hook and 495mm from the spindle to the bottom hook. Rollers are 795mm to the top and 840mm to the bottom from the spindle.

Please also note that if you are replacing a lock with shoot bolts, you will either need to discard them or swap the top to the bottom and visa versa, depending on the configuration.

G-TS lock gearboxes have been manufactured in various different versions over the years and its important to select the correct one, as they are not interchangeable. The current G-TS lock started production on 2010 and features different screw fixing positions to previous versions of the lock.

A good way to tell if you have the new or old version is the new version will have a square latch reversal button next to the latch.

Maco G-TS gearboxes feature lift lever functionality. They measure 228mm high by backset + 18mm wide. The centres (PZ) are 92mm. The latch is 29mm high, the deadbolt is 30mm high and the distance from the bottom of the latch to the top of the deadbolt is 54mm.

These gearboxes are fixed to their faceplates with 3 screws. The top screw to middle screw measures 57mm. The middle to bottom screw measures 180mm.

Maco G-TS hooks always move upwards when thrown. Hook cases are 134mm high.

Maco refer to their rollers as i.S. cams which are made of hardened steel to resist attack.

These i.S cams work in the same way as rollers which are used for compression, to pull the door against the frame, to help prevent dust or water ingress. They do little for security, but they also have the added benefit of helping to prevent the door from becoming warped as it is supported across its full height. This is dependent on the rollers being engaged into their keeps.

Rollers are normally adjustable by 1mm to help achieve optimum weather sealing.
