Anti-panic safety feature allows the outside lever handle to retract the latch after the correct code is entered. The spring-loaded latch bolt will lock automatically when the door is closed. The key retracts the latch bolt for entry without the code.

The key controls the deadbolt position. when the deadbolt is projected the safety feature allows the inside lever handle to retract the deadbolt and the latch bolt preventing people from being accidentally locked in.
